The poll closed yesterday and the results are in. However, even though the majority vote was in favor of keeping the game open, I'm making the executive decision as creator and head-mod to shut the game down. The reasons are as follows:

» We had seven people reply to the poll. Not counting Awbrey and I, that's only half the current players in game. Unfortunately, that's not enough to even get a majority vote and while the responses we did get were in favor of keeping the game open, there's somethings that have happened to me in the past few days that also factor in to this decision.

» One of which is I'm going to be gone for a lot longer technically starting yesterday than I originally thought. The next two weeks (at least) I'm going to be lucky if I can get on the internet for more than a few minutes at a time anytime but the evenings and if the pattern of the last three days continues, I'll be too wiped out to do much of anything. This may last longer than two weeks, but I can't say for sure, as I don't even know what the state of my internet connectivity is going to be a week from now.

» After attempting to tweak the plot in such a way that it would still be able to run and after spending a large chunk of my free time these past few days brainstorming miniplot ideas, I'm more sure than ever that I'm not going to have the energy or brain to be able to run plots for quite a while.

I'm nuking posting ability after I post this, but I'll still leave the comments open on posts so you can wrap up threads you'd like to. I had been hoping to have the huge plot-write up and explanation done by tonight so you all could see the little pieces that were going into the main plot, but I unfortunately haven't had enough time to finish it. If you'd like a copy of it, feel free to PM me and I'll send a copy your way when it is done.

Thank you all for the time you've put into this game and for making it an absolute joy to run the past four-ish months. I wasn't sure if Sweven would get off the ground and it's—I've had some wonderful times here and I have really, really enjoyed seeing you all play in my sandbox and enjoy it so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing my brainchild to life. I am so, so, so incredibly sorry that I couldn't do more to make this last.

Hey, Sweven. Kat here, with a modly poll. Yep, a poll. But first!! An explanation...

Awbrey and I have both noticed lately that the game's been slowing down quite a bit. Part of this is probably my fault, I haven't been running plots/dreaming sessions like I'd hoped to. Part of this is we've lost a lot of characters because of activity check, drops, et cetera. We actually have less characters now than opening week. In addition to that, my real life situation has pretty much exploded in my face and so I don't have anywhere near as much time to devote to RP as I wish. What this means is that I'm not going to be able to run big, long plots like this game was designed for which has the potential to hurt the player-base even more.

Now, there's a few things we can do for the game from here on out and we'd like your input on them.

One thing would be to put the overarching plot on indefinite hiatus until I can give it the attention it needs to make it succeed. This would mean that there would be no more Dreaming, as that's linked to the plot. But! I would attempt to run at least once a month (if my schedule allows) little weekend plots to keep things interesting.

The second option we've got would be to turn the game into a musebox for the current players. You could run your own plots and do what you want with the setting, but we wouldn't have any new apps because it's. Well. A musebox. There wouldn't be any overarching plot unless you guys wanted to run with the write-up I have for it, because there wouldn't be any real modding or modplots. But, this way you'd still get to play at your own pace and have fun with the setting and CR.

The third option, and this really breaks my heart, would be to shut the game down. There's been enough of a drop in tagging speed that I'm not sure how many characters we're going to have two and a half weeks from now and if it weren't for the fact that we're losing characters by the handful, this wouldn't really be an option. If this option gets chosen, we'd nuke all posting to the comms and leave it as-is so you can go back and read old threads, but if you want to continue museboxing anything with the setting/cr, you'd have to do it in your own comms with your own people.

So. There's the explanation. Behind the cut is a poll with these three options as ticky boxes and then a fourth "Other, will elaborate in comments." in case someone comes up with a brilliant idea we've missed. The poll is going to be open until Saturday, April 21st at 11:59PM CST (00:59PM EST/9:59PM Pacific). After that, we'll look at the results and make a decision. Reserves and applications are going to be closed until then, as it would be unfair to let people app in when we have option three on the table. Feel free to converse in the comments, I'm going to read them all, provided GMail will work with me.

For your handwaving needs

Just a note! Duo, Steph, and Quatre are all on a road trip, as you may or may not know. Their respective bosses/roommates will have been made aware. They do have access to their cells, but they will not be in town if you are looking for them!

They are slated to be out of town from the afternoon of Sunday, April 8 until around Wednesday, April 18.

While I'm here and to avoid spamming the OOC comm ~~with this gorgeous face~~, Stephanie Brown is going to be canon updated shortly after her return from this trip. She will be gone from this universe from Thursday, April 19 for two or three days. There will be a post from her shiny new account,

ichoosefight , as soon as she returns.

To summarize, her boss will tell you she's on vacation if you ask between now and next-next Wednesday. As of Thursday, she is meant to be coming in to work but is nowhere to be found. What an irresponsible employee, gawd, she is so fired if she doesn't come up with the flu or something, taking advantage of my kindness like that, what was I thinking. Typical boss stuff.

Sorry this is super late!! (and there was no month fail) The past few days have been somethin' else, let me tell you. But!! The post is here, so that means it's time for activity check! To pass activity you are going to need two of the following:

And you can double up on them! It's any combination of those. If you were accepted after the fifteenth of the month or were on hiatus for more than ten days, you are exempt from activity check. It would be super helpful if you commented anyways saying that you were accepted then or on hiatus so we don't miss anything, but we can track that down if you don't.

The rest of you who aren't exempt need to use the handy-dandy little form in the textbox below. Just fill it out and drop it in a comment before April 10th and you'll pass activity. If you don't comment you will be dropped from the game. Which would make us all sad. So comment!!

Also, I realize it's not yet March 1st, but we're only a few hours off and I'm doing mod-things anyways, so this is being posted a wee bit early.

Hi, Sweven. Long time no see!

I am so sorry about that, life got really crazy the past few weeks so I've been slacking a little on mod-stuff. But!! I am mostly back now and ready to go. Unfortunately, life is still crazy and I don't have much tagging energy, so I'm dropping Gwen. That means I'm not going to be playing anyone at the moment, and instead dedicating my time to making sure you guys have awesome plots and events to keep the game going. (More on that in a bit.)

There's been a few newbies that I don't think I've had a chance to say hi to yet, so hi! I'm Kat, creator of this here game and one of your mods. I'm an awkward turtle who invests way too much time and feelings into comic books and RP, and someone who lives in a cornfield. It's nice to meet you, sorry we haven't talked before! Now for modly stuff. Because this has been the Month of Fail for me, we don't... actually have a plot calendar for the month. Which was a big whoops on my part. But since I will have time to set it up and do it this weekend, this month's Dreaming log is going up on Friday. It's going to be an open log like last time, since that was a lot easier than doing a character lottery to see who would participate, and it's going to have a neat twist in it. And, since I missed out on doing a St. Patty's Day thing for y'all, the last weekend of the month is going to have a little mini-event. More on that next week though.

In a non-plotty vein, the taken characters list has finally been updated to reflect February's activity check. Next month it shouldn't take so long. But, uh, yeah. Those characters have been removed from the list, and their journals have been removed from the communities. If I made a mistake and removed someone still in-game please, please, please tell me!! I'm only human, so these things are bound to happen, and I want to be able to fix it as quickly as possible.

Aaaaand... I think that's all I've got right now. Let me know if there's any questions or if there's anything that needs my attention!!

I really wanted this game to work out because there are the most fabulous muns and characters here, and with only two months under the belt there was already some fantastic CR in the works. But I'm shorter on time than I thought I would be and I just have to focus more on school right now, and that means I can't pretend to be Spider-Man on the internet anymore. Thank you all for the wonderful (if brief) time here. I will miss it dearly.

Hey guys! I'm Betsy, bringing in Max Gibson from Batman Beyond.

ONLY from that CnC2020 meme that a few others here come from, and her life has sucked a lot in the past eight years. She is not a happy person, but she's really good at what she does (and what she does isn't very nice). The short version is that she was Batwoman for about a year in the City and then everything hit the fan and now she is a slightly PTSD-ed revolutionary who doesn't stick to Bat ethos anymore.

I'm really excited to be here and playing with all of you guys and I will be intro-ing her in just a bit.

He's a pretty cool guy smites, has no tact, is perpetually out of touch with human culture and doesn't afraid of anything.

He's also a precious virgin.

BUT NO, HE'S QUITE LOVELY ACTUALLY. Once you get past.... all the other things previously mentioned. For those who haven't seen the show, in a quick nutshell he works with his ex-highschool science teacher to make and sell meth, and it gets them into all kinds of wacky hijinks.

So I got you one with a pet fox! Tanpopo Yamazaki hails from Hokkaido, Tokyo, and is here to brighten up your lives. She's a little ball of sunshine named after a weed from one of the lesser known Yuu Watase stories, Imadoki! (Exclamation mark included). She has the magical dream power of making flowers bloom anywhere, anytime. IF YOU LIKE I CAN MAKE THEM SPECIFIC TO YOUR CHARACTER. Or just pretty, whichever.

As has been mentioned in the past and will no doubt be mentioned in the future, I suck at intros, so that's all I got. Enjoy the little fox. Whose name is Poplar, btw.

Hey, guys! Kat here, with a few modly things!

ONE. The Dreaming log for this month is up! (It was supposed to go up yesterday, but, uh. Well, more on that next point.) We're doing it a little differently than last month since it didn't work quite how it was supposed to then. This is an open log! Which means anyone can tag in, with any format. Prose, quicklog, sonnet... whatever. Have at it!

TWO. Iiiii am having some computer issues, (which is why the dreaming wasn't up yesterday) so if I am slow in getting back to you with anything, that's why. I'm doing a bunch of tagging on my phone at the moment which I'm generally pretty quick with, but switching between users is hard, so there might be some delay.

THREE. We have a new helper mod! Say hi to Awbrey, guys. She plays our fantastic Buffy and Dean Winchester, and she's going to be helping me keep everything running once my internet works well enough to give her the spare key.

I'm Tori. Brand new here, and very excited to begin playing here!

I introduce to you one Archie Kennedy from the Hornblower miniseries (ITV in the UK, A&E in the US). Archie is a gentle and high-spirited lieutenant in the British Royal Navy in 1802 just before the end of the French Revolutionary Wars. He's sweet, slightly vulnerable, and a shameless troll, extroverted and with a bitter hatred of cruelty. He might judge by first impressions too much, and his trust isn't easily won, but he makes a fiercely devoted and loyal friend. Heterosexual life partner to Horatio Hornblower. He is also, as of his current canon point, experiencing death-like symptoms, so Sweven will be both a massive culture shock and a second chance at life.
